Malignant Tumors – This patient had skin cancer in the outer part of the lower eyelid. One can see in the preoperative photo where the normal eyelashes had been destroyed by the skin cancer. The skin cancer was removed by the Moh´s technique using frozen section pathology to ensure complete removal of the tumor at the time of surgery. The defect left after removal of the tumor was nearly half of the eyelid. The eyelid was reconstructed using a flap of the lining of bone from the outer orbital rim, and also with skin and muscle flaps. The patient is left with a normal eyelid margin, however, there are still no lashes where the eyelid was reconstructed.
