Blockage of Tear Drainage – This patient preoperatively had dacryocystitis, a chronic infection in the lacrimal sac, and tearing, both secondary to blockage of the left tear drainage system at the level of the nasolacrimal duct. Surgery was performed to bypass the blockage in the tear drainage system: a DCR or dacryocystorhinostomy. She is now relieved from infection and tearing.
