Xanthelasma – Preoperatively this patient had recurrence of xanthelasma which are cholesterol like yellow deposits in the eyelid skin. The deposits can be seen in the inner aspects of the right upper eyelid, left upper eyelid and right lower eyelid. Previously, xanthelasma had been excised a number of years ago by cutting them out an repairing the defects with skin flaps and new xanthelasmas had occurred. This time she underwent surgery using a combination of surgical excision, repair and also removal by the CO2 laser.
